Wayne McCartney, 84, of Lacon Illinois died on May 10, 2024 at Carle Methodist Emergency Room in Peoria. Born on January 7, 1940 to the late George Ernest and Elsbeth (Petrich) McCartney, he married Delores Greathouse on November 19, 1960 in Henry Illinois. Delores passed on October 14, 2019. Wayne was a farmer throughout his life and also worked at CNC wood products and at International Supply Company while farming for over 50 years. He was an avid Cardinals fan, collector of John Deere memorabilia, and loved Westerns. Wayne will be dearly missed Wayne is survived by his children Mike McCartney of Lacon, Doug and Francine McCartney of Chillicothe, Tim McCartney and Joe Nebergall of Okeechobee, Florida, Jessica (Ben) Wilson of Chillicothe, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Wayne was also preceded in death by his siblings George McCartney, Katherine Kelly, Marjorie Kelly, Georgia Russell, one nephew and two nieces.
