Zoe Moon McAbee, 16 months, of Varna, Illinois, died at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in her Mother's arms on June 2, 2024 in Peoria, Illinois. Zoe was born on January 25, 2023 to Daniel McAbee and Cassandra Deffenbaugh. Zoe's life was complex from birth, spending her first 9 months in NICU. Although we knew her time on Earth would be short, she fought every day and defied many odds. All she knew was love.
Zoe is survived by her mother, Cassandra Deffenbaugh (Jacob Deffenbaugh) of Varna; grandmothers Angie Davis (Jimmy Russell) of Lacon, Regina Smith (Ken Hillard) of Chillicothe; siblings Jacob, Karu, Alexander, Rowen, and Penelope at home; great grandmother, Janet Davis of Lacon and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Daniel McAbee; grandfather Eddie McAbee; and her great grandfathers.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 6 from 10 to 11 AM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Graveside service will follow the visitation at the Sparland Cemet
