Merry L. Durrstein, 71, of Chillicothe Illinois, formerly Lacon, died on June 14, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born on November 29, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois to the late William and Helen (Presley) Fuller, she married Richard Durrstein on July 7, 2004 in Lacon. He survives. Merry is also survived by her daughters Charmagne (Thomas) Berchtold of Chillicothe, Helen Sample of Peoria, Sabrina (Matt Dunshee) Higdon of Henry, step children Nathan Hobbs of Wisconsin; Patrick Hobbs of Indiana, Alyssa & Austin Durrstein of Washington Illinois, Alex & Aric Durrstein of Michigan; sisters Sharon Kerns of Princeton Illinois, Lenora Williams of Henry Illinois; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son Robert Sample; brother William Fuller II; sister Karen Johnson; and brother-in-law Alan L. Durrstein. Merry enjoyed doing crafts and collecting antiques, but what she enjoyed the most was extreme decorating for the holiday
