WASHBURN - PEORIA: Robert "Bob" Carl Ericksen died on the morning of January 29, 2025. As the winter sun rose with long golden rays over the Illinois prairie, Bob Ericksen became part of the earth and sky he loved so deeply. Shortly after, a soft wind stirred through the great oaks at the Sun Foundation and whispered through the snow-covered prairie.
Bob was born Sept. 17, 1941. He was a force of nature, an artist, an educator, an activist, a visionary, and a man who turned laughter into an art form. His presence filled every room like sunlight through a prism, warm, brilliant, and ever-shifting between wisdom and humor.
Born outside of Seattle, to Helen & Carl Ericksen (deceased), Bob spent his childhood exploring the woods and places of nature. He was fascinated by things big and small, from the depths of the woods behind his house to seeing his reflection for the first time in the aureate reflection of a gold bug in his palm.
