Rose Mary Dewalt, 90 of Sparland, passed away at The Arc of Chillicothe at 2:50am on Monday, March 17, 2025. Born on May 27, 1934 to the late Estelle (Buckman) and Don Gauwitz, she married Harold "Bud" DeWalt on June 8, 1957 in Lacon, IL. He passed away on October 26, 2017. Rosie and Bud lead a very active life, they were either camping at a Bluegrass Festival, attending Sparland and Midland Basketball games, attending local Marshall County events or traveling around the U.S. Mostly a homemaker, Rosie did work for the Woolen Mill in Lacon and delivered papers for The Peoria Journal Star. Although Rosie never had any children, she helped to raise all her nieces and nephews and even some great nieces and nephews. Rosie loved all kids and even watched out for the neighborhood kids, sometimes raising hell with them if they were doing something they shouldn't. Rosie loved music and loved to dance. She didn't care if she was the only one on the floor, she lived the motto, "Dance like nobody
